Crossroads Student Ministries
Crossroads Student Ministries is the combination of two powerful groups.theturn is our highschool group which currently meets on Wednesday nights at 7PM and The Zone, our middle school group, that meets Sunday morning during the 9:30AM service
the vision for Crossroads Student Ministries is something that we have started to live by and is becoming a part of our students everyday vocabulary. it is not only a vision for the students of crossroads church; it is a vision for the students of the city of seguin and surrounding areas, as well as it is a vision for our lives. the vision is simple and easy to remember:
e|ncounter - encounter is the first part of the vision because it comes before anything else. What we will and do strive to do as a student ministry team is to put all students in a position where they can have an encounter with God. Meeting jesus for the first time is life changing and the first step towards a new person, and a new life.
e|xperience - once our students have had the opportunity to have an encounter with God we want them to experience Him. The next step in their life should be to began their relationship with God. This is where we really want our students to experience god. Experiencing God comes with getting involved in the youth group rather than just coming on Sundays. It involves reading the bible at home and seeking God other than just coming on a sunday morning. Sunday morning is a great time to get together with a bunch of other believers are worship God together. But, to really experience Him, more is needed. It needs to be a day to day thing, and when we invite God into our everyday lives.
e|xpect - expect may be the last part of our vision, but it definitely isn't the end of it. expect is all about expecting God. Once the student has encountered God and experienced him, the next step in their walk with him is to start expecting him. This is where the foundation of faith will be built. We want our students to learn how to expect God to move in their life like they never have before. Our desire is to teach and show them that God has promised us things through His word. We believe that its hard to encounter God and experience Him and not start to expect Him. By opening up the word and teaching them how to have hope and faith, they will learn that it is okay to expect God to show up in their life.
